Assam : Two hardcore NDFB(S) ultras nabbed

Guwahati, Sept 9 (IBNS) : Security forces on Wednesday apprehended two hardcore NDFB(S) ultras from Assam's Chirang district, police said.

BTAD IGP Dr LR Bisnoi said that following a tip-off, police had launched an operation at Patabari area under Amguri police station in the lower Assam district and nabbed a hardcore militant.

The nabbed militant identified as Biron Narzary alias N Bapeibai and security personnel recovered one HK 33 rifle along with magazine, 212 rounds ammunition from a jungle where the arms-ammunition were buried.

Security personnel nabbed another NDFB(S) militant from Sissubari area under Amguri police station who was identified as Swmkhwr Basumutary alias B Sukao.

“He is a self -styled Lance Corporal of the outfit and 35th batch Myanmar trained cadre,” Dr Bisnoi said.

“On spot interrogation, Swmkhwr also led us to recovery of a 7.65mm pistol with magazine, two rounds ammunition, 25 rounds AK ammunition, four HK grenades and detonators,” the top police official said.
