Guwahati/IBNS: If a blind person is moving his fingers from left to right across the dot lines of a tea packet and the person comes to know about the brand of the tea packet, then his or her experience will become more joyful and it has now become reality.

For the first time, a leading tea brand in Assam has launched different types of tea in Braille friendly packets.

Aromica Tea, a leading tea brand of Assam has taken up the concept only for the visually impaired people.

Ranjit Baruah, Director of Aromica Tea said, "We are trying to create value added tea, why not health to a cup of tea."

"A special tea packet which is called a Braille friendly tea packet, I think probably this is the first of the country. We have used Braille language in the tea packets so that the virtually challenged people can understand what is the tea brand name, MRP, expiry date," Ranjit Baruah said.

He also said, "Different types of teas have been produced in the region like black tea orthodox tea, green tea, white tea. We have tried to use different ingredients that are produced in the region like tulsi ginger, moringa."

"One of the popular teas is blue tea made of butterfly pea flowers, another product is Bhot Jalakia tea – basically ghost pepper which has been dehydrated and blended in a certain proportion to a Dheki tea – which is basically handcrafted black tea. We have used bamboo shoots in tea," Ranjit Baruah said.

He further said that, wellness market is growing in a big way and post pandemic the demands for wellness have come in a big way – wellness drinks, teas have their own market. We have around 42 products as of now.

Earlier, Aromica tea had launched a special organic Assam tea blended with ‘Bhot Jalakia’ (ghost pepper) – one of the hottest chillies in the world, Aromica Fiery Tea – a special Assam organic tea blended with Bhot Jalakia.

The special fiery tea has been blended with organic black tea made using a ‘dheki’ – a wooden threshing tool, and dehydrated lemon, ginger powder and Bhot Jalakia.
