Assam reports two more COVID-19 deaths, 15 more patients detected
Guwahati/IBNS: Assam on Monday reported two more COVID-19 deaths, taking the total number of virus fatalities in the state to four.
In last 24 hours, the state has registered 15 positive cases for COVID-19 and the state tally has now surged to 115.
Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that one person died at Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) prior to detection.
A 71-year-old cancer patient, who returned from Mumbai and was also infected by COVID-19, died at Guwahati Medical College Hospital early on Monday.
Out of the 15 new cases, seven infections have been reported from Guwahati, four from Golaghat district, two from Cachar district and one each from Jorhat and Nagaon district.
In Guwahati, out of seven new cases, three patients are from Sarusajai stadium quarantine centre and three related to Aloo Godam case are from Fancy Bazaar containment zone.
Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted: “7 #COVID19 + cases detected from Guwahati. One person had unfortunately died at GMCH prior to detection. 3 patients are from Sarusajai quarantine centre; & rest 3 related to Aloo Godam case are from Fancy Bazaar containment zone.”

Out of the total positive cases, 41 patients were discharged from hospitals and the state has now 68 active positive cases for COVID-19.
