Guwahati, Nov 24 (IBNS): The Assam Police on Monday foiled a major terror attack in the state and recovered at least 7 kg of explosives from near a toilet in a local train, reports said.
This comes just days ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit to the state later in the week.

The security personnel launched the search operation at Rangia junction, which is just 50 kms away from Guwahati, following an input from the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The person who was carrying the explosive could not be apprehended but police is suspecting a Bangladeshi terror outfit's involvement.

Modi is scheduled to take part in the All India Directors-General of Police conference in Guwahati.
