Assam: Police arrest youth for raping and killing 7-year-old minor girl

Guwahati/IBNS: A 27-year-old youth was arrested by police for raping and killing a seven-year-old minor girl in Assam’s Hojai district on Sunday.

The incident took place at Borhola village area in Hojai district.

Police said that yesterday night the victim was present at a marriage party in her village and the accused person took the minor girl to a nearby paddy field.

“During our preliminary investigation, we found that the accused person took the girl to the paddy field and raped and murdered her. We have arrested a person in connection with it and also registered a case,” a police officer said.

The arrested person was identified as Joyprakash Kala and both accused and victim girl are from the same village.
