Assam: Massive protests against Union MoS Railway minister after he misbehaved with retired teacher

| @indiablooms | May 09, 2018, at 02:46 am

Guwahati, May 8 (IBNS): Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain courted a controversy at a government programme in Central Assam’s Nagaon district on Monday where he had interrupted and misbehaved with a retired teacher of a government school who was speaking on the poor road condition in his area.

While the retired teacher was speaking on the poor road condition in Amolapatty’s BB Road in Nagaon town at the programme, the Union minister, who represents the Nowgong parliamentary constituency, interrupted and misbehaved with the teacher.

Gohain slammed him for "intentionally bringing the issue in front of the media."

While the retired teacher was speaking on the poor road conditions, Rajen Gohain interrupted and used abusive language.

Following the Union minister’s act, several organisations on Tuesday staged protests and burned the effigy of Rajen Gohain.

They demanded that the Union minister should apologise to the retired teacher for this act.

Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) staged protest and burned effigy of the Union minister at Nagaon town.

On the other hand, some ex-students of Nagaon Government Boy’s Higher Secondary School also protested in front of the residence of Rajen Gohain.
