Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal reviews MOITRI scheme

Guwahati, June 19 (IBNS): Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the progress of the MOITRI scheme under which modernization of infrastructure in police stations are being taken place at Brahmaputra State Guest House on Tuesday evening.          

The meeting, which was chaired by Chief Minister Sonowal, also took stock of the different aspects of modernisation of police stations in the state.

He also directed DGP to oversee that that the modernization work of 73 police stations is completed by the end of December this year.

He also directed DGP to ask Superintendents of Police of each district to inspect the quality of work being undertaken under the MOITRI scheme.

Chief Minister Sonowal also took stock of the progress of the preliminary works for the proposed Police Academy in the state.          

DGP Kuladhar Saikia, Additional Chief Secretary Home and Political Kumar Sanjay Krishna and senior officers of Home department were present at the meeting.
