Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal calls on Amit Shah

New Delhi, Jun 14 (UNI) Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday called on the Union Home Minister Amit Shah here.

Interacting with media after the meeting, Sonowal called it a courtesy call after Mr Shah took over as Union Home Minister and also discussed the important issues of Assam.

It is understood that Assam CM has also updated the Home Minister on the issue of National Register of Citizen (NRC) and law and order situation of the state.

At least six people were injured this evening when a grenade exploded outside a mall on Zoo road in Guwahati, Assam on May 15.

Terror group ULFA faction led by Paresh Baruah has claimed responsibility for the attack.
