Assam: AK-47 Rifle with 29 rounds live ammunition recovered from auto rickshaw

Guwahati, Apr 21 (IBNS): Security forces recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition and arrested six persons in Assam’s Golaghat district along with Nagaland border on Sunday. 

According to the reports, during checking, the Assam police and CRPF team had intercepted two auto rickshaw at Uriamghat forest tiniali area in Golaghat district along with Assam-Nagaland border.

During checking, the security personnel had recovered one AK-47 rifle with magazine, 29 rounds live ammunition and five mobile phone handsets in possession from six persons, who travelled from the Nagaland side.

Later, police had registered a case in connection with it and arrested the persons.

The arrested persons were identified as Khoyak Konyak, Kaimen Wing, Aka Sumi, Akash Ali, Tez Bahadur Chetri and Chetam Konyak.

“Our police team and CRPF team had intercepted two auto rickshaw at Uriamghat forest tiniali area and during checking we had recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, 29 rounds live ammunition and five mobile phones. Six persons were travelled in two auto rickshaw,” a police official said.
