As Jallikattu protests continue, TN CM seeks legal options to remove ban
According to reports,Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam has extended his stay in Delhi to get legal opinion on his options of ordinance under state law.
Panneerselvam met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday.
Modi has told Panneerselvam that he cannot use an ordinance or executive order to remove the ban.
After meeting the PM, TN chief minister said that they want on ordinance on the issue and the ban on Jallikattu removed, media reported.
He also said that the PM is sympathetic towards the feelings of the people of Tamil Nadu over Jallikattu, reported NDTV.
AIADMK chief Sasikala has also written a letter to the PM on the issue.
Meanwhile, the protest at Marina Beach in Chennai swelled manifold on Thursday with the protesters demanding that transport stays off the road on Friday.
The protesters also threatened not to disperse until their demand is met about removing the ban on Jallikattu, media reported.
