Arvind Kejriwal seeks people's advice over Delhi border reopening, opens shops in Unlock 1.0

New Delhi/IBNS: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday sought advices from people whether it would be a wise decision to reopen the borders of the national capital as India entered into the first phase of unlocking socio-economic activities.

"The Delhi government needs your suggestion over a very important topic. Will Delhi border be reopened? Should we allow people from the rest of the country to avail our hospitals?" asked the CM.

People can send their advices through Whatsapp, emails or voice messages till Friday.

Besides seeking advices from people, Kejriwal on Monday announced the reopening of all shops including barber shops, salons, parlours but not spa.

Earlier, the Delhi government had permitted the opening of shops in a market on the basis of odd-even rule which will no longer be in place.

Kejriwal also said as per the central government's directive, night curfew will be in place between 9 pm and 5 am not permitting people to go out except for essential needs.

In a bid to set the economy of the country rolling, the central government on Saturday amid the massive surge in Covid-19 cases limited the lockdown to only containment zones (where positive cases are reported) till Jun 30.

The government has allowed the opening up major segments of socio-economic life- religious places, hotels, restaurants, hospitality services, shopping malls- outside the containment zones from Jun 8 in the lockdown 5.0.

Out of 93,322 infected people across the country (as per Monday morning update), 10,893 are from the national capital.
