Arvind Kejriwal just wants to loot Punjab: Charanjit Singh Channi
Phillaur/Goraya/UNI: As the campaign for the forthcoming assembly polls picked up pace in the state, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi inaugurated the first election office of the Congress party in Goraya here on Wednesday.
Channi was in the Phillaur assembly constituency to campaign in support of Congress candidate Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary.
Addressing meetings in Goraya and at Chaudhary's residence in Phillaur city after inaugurating the office, CM Channi urged the constituents of Phillaur to make Vikramjit Chaudhary an MLA and said MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary and he would make him a minister thereafter.
“I have seen the capabilities of Vikramjit. When he was the state youth Congress president, he worked very hard to strengthen the party at the grassroots. We both brothers are at your service,” Channi said.
Claiming that PM Narendra Modi solves the problems of Adani while he solves the issues of common people, CM Channi stated that during the 111 days of his government, he took and implemented many decisions.
“Our government has provided relief to every section of the society. We provide the cheapest electricity in the country; we have waived the power arrears; we have slashed petrol and diesel prices by Rs 10 and Rs 5, and we have made the bus travel free for women and students. We are implementing the mission of 'navi soch, navi Punjab',” Channi said.
Attacking Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal, CM Channi said that Kejriwal had nothing to do with Punjab and just wanted to loot the state.
"Earlier, he wanted the CM seat for himself, but when the people of Punjab did not seem to agree, Kejriwal put forth Bhagwant Mann," he claimed.
Regarding stand up comedian turned politician Mann he said he can only run the stage but not a state.
Channi said that the majority of the leaders of AAP had left already and the people no longer supported the party.
Thanking the Chief Minister for opening the first office of the Congress party in Phillaur constituency, Vikramjit said, “I am grateful to CM Channi ji for inaugurating the party office in Goraya and addressing a meeting in Phillaur city. Our party workers and supporters are delighted with the visit of Channi Ji.”
