Arunachal Pradesh minister’s son gets life term for a murder case

Guwahati, June 5 (IBNS): Arunachal Pradesh Industries minister’s son has been convicted for a murder case and sentenced to life imprisonment.

A local court in Arunchal Pradesh has convicted Kajum Bagra, son of Arunachal Pradesh Industries minister Tumke Bagra, for a murder case.

According to the reports, the Additional Session Judge, West Session Division Basar on June 4 sentenced Kajum Bagra to rigorous life imprisonment, who shot dead one Kenjum Kamsi outside Hotel West in Aalo, the headquarters of West Siang district on March 26, 2017.

The court order stated that, the benefits of section 360/428 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 and section 4 of the Probation of Offence Act 1958 shall not be available to him.

Beside life imprisonment, the convict will also have to pay a fine of Rs 5000, if the fine is recovered then the same shall be paid to the widow of the deceased, read the judgment.

The police had registered an FIR on March 26, 2017 on the information received by a person named Kenmi Kamsi that his brother Kenjum Kamsi was shot dead by Kajum Bagra, outside of a hotel in Aalo and police had arrested Kajum Bagra and registered a case (no – 14/17) at Aalo police station under Section 302 IPC/r/w Section 25(I)9B)/27 of Arms Act.

It is to be mentioned that, the incident was captured on CCTV installed outside of the hotel.
