Arunachal Pradesh governor reviews overall security scenario of state
The governor called up the officials to strengthen the security apparatus and at the same time initiate action to change the mindset of the people to promote Pan-India spirit.
Every citizen of the State must be respected. It is the prime duty of the security agencies to instill sense of security, the governor stressed.
Acharya advised the security agencies to organize more civic action programme to win the heart and mind.
"Do more than your call of duty. Involve trend setters and opinion makers such as senior citizens, ex-servicemen, and college and university students in your programmes," the governor suggested, while terming these people the dormant energies of the society and create awareness on the government schemes.
Acharya also asked them to help the farmers, artisans and entrepreneurs of the region but buying their products for the needs of forces and at the same time solving their marketing challenges.
The Arunachal Pradesh governor asked the APP to constitute Peace and Security Citizens or Fellowship Committee involving opinion makers to aid the security agencies in maintaining law and order, promote peace and harmony and also aid the poor and needy people.
On the other hand, the governor met the members of Itanagar Municipal Council led by Deputy Chief Council and accompanied by Ngurang Yache, Tatung Tania, Takap Tagru, Gora Tallang and others at Raj Bhavan.
He advised the Itanagar Municipal Council members to focus on cleanliness of the town so as to facilitate inclusion of Itanagar in the list of Smart Cities.
Once included, the Capital City will be citizen friendly and sustainable and its denizens will avail many benefits under the urban renewal and retrofitting program of Government of India.
Acharya expressed that Itanagar Municipal Council be strengthened by delegating more subjects including water supply, house tax, town beautification and primary schools with fund, functions and functionaries.
