Arun Jaitley gets additional charge of Defence Ministry

New Delhi, Mar 13 (IBNS): Union Finance Minister and leader of the Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley, has been given additional charge of Defence Ministry following the resignation of Manohar Parrikar who has been chosen as the next CM of Goa.

A tweet from the official account of President of India announced, "Shri Arun Jaitley shall be assigned the charge of the Ministry of Defence, in addition to his existing portfolios."

Arun Jaitley had also served as the Defence Minister for a short while in 2014.
Parrikar resigned from his post of Defence Minister prior to his appointment as Goa CM on Sunday.

Parrikar was the Defence Minister from November, 2014 to March 13, 2017.
