Srinagar, Aug 19 (IBNS): In the second incident, less than a month, Indian Army on Friday night allegedly thrashed two officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara of North Kashmir, police said.

According to reports, Army personnel from 41 Rashtriya Rifles caught hold of the policemen following a scuffle and then they beat them up.

The army allegedly hit Shabir Ahmad ‘munshi’.

He was later taken to near by hospital for advanced treatment.

This incident reportedly occurred  late last night on Friday when 41 RR personnel of the Army interfered with a common citizen near Deputy Commissioner Office of the town

The scuffle, they said, started when ‘Munshi’ intervened to alleged irksome behaviour of the army personnel with a civilian who was asked to come out of the vehicle he was travelling in.

Sources refer to the police, saying that military personnel started loading guns and targeted cops, but on this occasion, Station House Officer demonstrated perfection and stood in front of the subordinate officer and provide them protection.

The incident comes less than a month after several policemen, including an officer, were injured when soldiers of 24 Rashtriya Rifles entered into a police station at Gund Ganderbal in central Kashmir and thrashed them.

Meanwhile, Kashmir police claims it was a minor ‘scuffle’ and solved the issue amicably.
