Delhi/IBNS: Two people, an army man and a vegetable vendor have been arrested under the Official Secrets Act, for allegedly transferring classified documents to the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan the Delhi Police Set Thursday.

We got input about the involvement of one Habibur Rehman. Our team then conducted a raid and arrested him from Pokhran after due verification. Some secret documents were recovered from his possession and a case was registered against him under the Official Secrets Act," Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Praveer Ranjan said at a press conference, reported NDTV.

The army man's arrest comes after a vegetable vendor at the Pokhran Army base camp was held for getting sensitive documents in exchange for money and supplying them to the ISI.

Delhi Police said that the Army has confirmed the classified nature of the documents.

The Delhi Police sleuths picked up vegetable seller, Habeebur Rehman, from Pokhran on Wednesday.

Delhi's Police's Crime Branch received a tip off that some security sensitive documents were being passed off to ISI through a spy network.

As the investigation progressed, police learned that Army man Parmjit supplied the documents to Habeebur, who had asked him to share the secret documents.

Rehman's relatives are based in Pakistan's Sindh and he had visited the country and met people of the spy racket.

"Both Rehman and Paramjit have been found involved in the illegal act. The Army headquarters have also confirmed that the documents shared by the duo were classified in nature," a police officer said.

Multiple bank accounts used in the crime have been detected, he said, adding that the money for doing the job was being transferred through the hawala network.
