New Delhi, Sept 19 (IBNS): The Army rescue tasks under the ongoing Operation Megh Rahat in Jammu and Kashmir, that was being carried out for the past two weeks in the wake of the massive floods, has been called off, while the relief and medical assistance will continue.
Restoration of road network has also been largely achieved  and efforts are continuing to improve the trafficability on damaged roads, the Indian Army said in a statement.

Operation Sadbhavna activities will continue and the troops of Northern Command will provide support in close synergy with the civil administration and the police.

The Jammu and Kashmir government has set up a Chief Minister's Flood Relief Fund to receive donations from the individuals, business groups and non-government organizations intending to donate for the people affected by the devastating natural calamity that killed more than 400 people and left countless homeless.
