Another Kolkata cop succumbs to Covid-19

Kolkata/IBNS: Kolkata Police on Friday morning reported its fourth Covid-19 fatality as an Inspector rank officer posted in the city police's traffic department succumbed to Covid-19.

According to reports, Inspector Abhigyan Mukherjee, who had tested positive for Covid-19, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mukundapur and after his condition deteriorated on Thursday, he was shifted to a government requisitioned Covid hospital at Anandapur where he died on Friday morning.

"We deeply mourn the untimely demise of Inspector Abhigyan Mukherjee, who was posted in Kolkata Police's Traffic Department. He was affected with COVID-19 and was at the forefront of our Fight Against Corona," Kolkata Police tweeted.

Earlier, three Kolkata cops including two constables and a civic volunteer had succumbed to Covid-19.
