Patna, Nov 13 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Angry villagers on SUnday broke the locked gate of a nationalized bank in Bihar and made their forcible entry inside shortly after being told that there was no cash at the bank branch.

The incident took place at the Miraganj block in Gopalganj district.

Gopalgnaj is home district of RJD president Lalu Prasad.

According to reports, long queues of villagers were waiting in front of the local branch of the Punjab National Bank hoping to get cash.

Suddenly, bank officials locked the gate saying the cash has run short.

Angry at being denied currency notes, the irate mob shook up the iron-gate of the bank furiously and finally entered the bank after breaking it open.

Soon after getting information, the police reached the spot and somehow pacified the restive mob.

Long queues are being seen at every bank branch and ATMs across the state as the cash-hit people are making every bid to lay their hands on cash.

They are even rushing to the ATMS at odd hours hoping there will be thinner crowd but to no avail.

Reports said only five percents of ATMS are currently operation in the state.
