Amaravati/IBNS: A Class 10 student was burnt alive allegedly by a man who had been harassing his sister in Andhra Pradesh's Bapatla district.

The victim, identified as Amarnath, named three people including someone called "Venky" while he was being taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

The 15-year-old teen was burnt alive after the accused poured petrol on him, his family alleged.

The boy died after he was brought to the hospital.

Amarnath's family alleged that Venkateswar, a 21-year-old man, had been harassing his sister and had confronted Venkateswar over it.

A murder case has been filed, according to the police. Another case under the stringent POCSO Act has also been filed as Amarnath's sister, who was allegedly harassed by Venkateswar, is a minor.

The police are questioning the accused.
