An undertrial prisoner dies in custody in Bihar jail

An undertrial prisoner lodged in Deep Nagar divisional jail in Bihar died under judicial custody.

Sub-Divisional Officer of Bihar Sharif Abhishek Palasia said here on Friday that the prisoner suddenly fell ill and was rushed to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital where he succumbed during treatment.

He said any action would be initiated in connection with the matter only after getting the post-mortem report and concrete evidence.

Meanwhile, protesting against the incident relatives of the prisoner demonstrated at Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital Chowk. The relatives alleged that he was murdered.
