Amid protests, TN CM failed to inaugurate Jallikattu ceremony in Madurai's Alanganallur
Villagers of Allanganallur are blocking the roads leading to 'Vaadi Vaasal', the gateway from where bulls come out.
All vehicles and ambulances are stuck in the blockade, said reports.
In a major victory for people demonstrating across the state for the past few days, the Tamil Nadu government on Saturday cleared Jallikattu Ordinance.
The state government has also filed a caveat in the Supreme Court, so that its view is heard first in case the ordinance allowing Jallikattu is challenged.
The ruling AIADMK party earlier said that the bill to replace the Ordinance will be tabled in the State Assembly on Jan 23 when the first Assembly session begins.
The state passed an ordinance or executive order to get bulls out of the list of animals prevented as performing animals in a sport to usher in Pongal this year.
The Centre on Friday cleared the ordinance regarding Jallikkattu as proposed by Tamil Nadu government.
Tamil Nadu has been witnessing major protest over the issue of Jallikkattu.
The agitation in favour of the traditional bull taming sport in Tamil Nadu snowballed into a huge upsurge with thousands of people swarming Chennai's Marina beach in recent days.
