Amid Diwali celebrations, two fire incidents reported in Assam’s Dhemaji district

Guwahati/IBNS: Amidst Diwali celebrations, properties worth several lakh of rupees were reduced to ashes and at least five houses were burnt in two separate fire incidents in Assam’s Dhemaji district on Saturday night.

The fire incidents took place at Silapathar and Laipulia area in Dhemaji district after stray rockets and firecrackers fell on the roofs of the houses.

Locals said that, there is no report of any casualty in the fire incidents.

Properties worth several lakh of rupees were reduced to ashes in the fire incidents.

Later, locals and fire tenders had managed to control the situation.
