Amarnath Yatra: Batch of 3,472 pilgrims leave from Jammu base camp

Jammu/UNI: Chanting 'Bam Bam Bhole', a fresh batch of 3472 pilgrims on Saturday left from Bhagwati Nagar Base camp here for Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas.

An official said that 3472 pilgrims left the base camp in a convoy of 132 vehicles.

A group of 2515 pilgrims (2042 males, 395 females, 12 children, 63 sadhus and three sadhvis) left for Pahalgam in a convoy of 93 vehicles.

For Baltal, 957 pilgrims comprising 689 males and 268 females left in a convoy of 39 vehicles amid tight security arrangements.

The yatra started on July 1 and will conclude on August 31.
