All-party delegation to meet all stakeholders in Kashmir: Rajnath Singh

"We had a meeting regarding the all-party delegation, which will visit Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow. The leaders from all parties gave in their suggestions. This delegation will meet the different delegations in Kashmir," Home Minister Rajnath Singh said at the end of a  meeting.

Singh, who chaired Saturday's meeting with 30 MPs belonging to various  political parties, said the Government received suggestions on the unrest in Kashmir from every party.

“After coming back, our all-party delegation will convene a meeting and give suggestions on the basis of which the Centre will decide its future course of action,” he said.

Representatives from different  parties issued statements after the meeting, saying there is  need to keep “channels of dialogue”  open and calling for the resolution of the present  crisis through “tangible action."
Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said the government has to decide who the stakeholders are.

CPI(M)  General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said the government should  invite the Hurriyat Conference for talks with the delegation.

"Its necessary to announce  announce confidence-building measures during the committee’s visit to Kashmir and ban the use of pellet  guns by security forces."

All India Majlees-e-Ittehadul-Musilmeen President Asaduddin Owaisi said he advocated at the meeting in favour of holding dialogues with all Kashmir stakeholders and let them say what they have to say. "We may not agree with all what they say, but they have the right to express themselves," Owaisi said.

During the two-day visit, the MPs will interact with J & K Governor N.N. Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.

They will  also hold meetings with representatives of all political parties and other delegations in Srinagar.

Kashmir has been in a state of turmoil for nearly two months with regular incidents of mob violence taking place since the encounter death of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani on July 8. Altogether 71 people have so far been killed in clashes with security forces. The valley was also under a blanket curfew at a stretch for more than 50 days.
