All CCTV cameras were turned off during Jayalalithaa's hospitalisation: Apollo Chairman
Chennai, Mar 22 (IBNS): In a startling revelation, it has come to surface that all CCTV cameras at Apollo Hospitals were turned off during the 75-day hospitalisation of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, who died on Dec 5, 2016.
The information was revealed by Apollo Hospitals Chairman Dr Prathap C Reddy on Thursday.
Speaking at a press conference of the Apollo International Colorectal Symposium 2018, Reddy said that the hospital had submitted all relevant documents to the Justice A Arumughaswamy Commission, which is probing Jayalalithaa's death.
But he said the hospital could not submit any CCTV footage as all the CCTV cameras for were turned off during that period.
"As soon as she got admitted, the access to the ICU was closed. All patients were diverted to another ICU. This ICU was occupied only by her. Only one out of 24 room in the ICU was used. They removed the camera because they did not want everyone to be watching,” he was quoted as saying in media reports.
No visitors were allowed to meet her, Reddy informed.
