Akhilesh will be chief ministerial candidate for UP polls: SP

| | Oct 18, 2016, at 04:01 am
Lucknow, Oct 17 (IBNS): The Samajwadi Party (SP) on Monday cleared all rumours and said Akhilesh Yadav will be the chief ministerial candidate of the party in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections.

Samajwadi Party national vice-president Kiranmoy Nanda announced this while addressing a press conference on Monday.

He blamed media for creating all misinterpretation regarding the issue.

He also said that the announcement has the approval of the SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, who is also Akhilesh's father.

Earlier rumours suggested that UP's incumbent chief minister Akhilesh had lost his father’s confidence.

Reports also suggested that Akhilesh could be sidelined during the election campaign.
