Ajay Maken, Sharmistha Mukherjee condole Sheila Dikshit's demise

New Delhi, Jul 20 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Ajay Maken and Delhi Mahila Congress president Sharmistha Mukherjee on Saturday condoled the demise of three-time Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Maken said,''Hard to believe-My mentor and a mother like figure to me #SheilaDikshit ji is no more.Delhi can never forget her contribution I will always thankfully remember the way she groomed me as a young politician and granted me valuable learning experience under her guidance! OmShanti''.

Mukherjee said,''Just too shocked! The lady who dominated Delhi politics for nearly two decades, who changed the face of Delhi is no more. Knew her since many years before I joined politics in my days as a dancer. Among other things, she made Delhi the cultural capital of India. RIP Ma’am''.

A three time Chief Minister of Delhi and senior Congress leader Sheila Dikshit passed away at the age of 81.

Dikshit, who was appointed president of the Delhi Congress in January after Ajay Maken stepped down citing health issues, died in Escorts hospital in Delhi.
