AISECT Summit 2016 held to encourage women entrepreneurship
Bhopal, Mar 16 (IBNS) ICT & skills based education, services and e-governance group, AISECT organized the AISECT Women Achievers Summit 2016 on the occasion of the International Women’s Day focussing on women entrepreneurship.
Women entrepreneurs and achievers from various walks of life were a part of this summit which focused on women entrepreneurship. A women entrepreneur cell named ‘Pehchaan’ was launched during the Summit and various important aspects on how to encourage women entrepreneurs were also discussed.
A book showcasing stories of 100 success AISECT women entrepreneurs was also released. At the end of the summit AISECT felicitated some of the top women achievers from various fields.
AISECT’s Director Pallavi Rao Chaturvedi said that the AISECT Women Achievers Summit endeavors to encourage women entrepreneurs and provide a platform to them. She said that from the last 30 years AISECT is motivating women and has given them equal opportunities within the network in various capacities including students, faculty, counsellors, entrepreneurs and management. At present around 2000 women entrepreneurs are successfully running their centres nationally.
Aruna Mohan Rao, the Additional Director General of Police, was the Chief Guest of the first session of the Summit. She said that the condition of women in the present times has changed considerably. People have become educated and their outlook towards women has also changed. This change is quite evident through such summits and discussions.
While addressing the summit, AISECT’s Chairman Santosh Choubey said that ever since its launch three decades ago, AISECT has encouraged women to be a part of the professional world and has actively supported women entrepreneurship. Today, a large number of women entrepreneurs are a part of AISECT and are operating their centres successfully. Moreover, women constitute around 50 percent of the workforce at AISECT. He added that in future also AISECT will continue to encourage women entrepreneurship.
The eminent panelists at the AISECT Women Achievers Summit 2016 included Mrs. Renu Tiwari (Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Khaadi Gram Udyog Board), Mrs. Sangeeta Kumari (Senior Social Development Specialist, World Bank) and Mrs. Kanta Singh (State Head, United Nation Development Project). A book based on the case studies of 100 AISECT women entrepreneurs was also released on this occasion.
During the concluding session of the summit, film actress and theatre artist Ms. Tisca Chopra as well as Ms. Jayshree Kiyawat (Director, National Rural Health Mission) felicitated some of the most successful women entrepreneurs of AISECT as well as prominent women achievers of Bhopal for their distinguished works.
