Kolkata/IBNS: Upsetting Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM which is set to contest the West Bengal assembly polls, several state leaders of the party joined the ruling Trinamool Congress here on Monday.

Among the leaders who joined the Trinamool was AIMIM West Bengal chief Anwar Pasha.

The leaders have joined the Trinamool in presence of West Bengal Ministers Bratya Basu and Moloy Ghatak.

Joining the ruling party of the state, Pasha said, "I want to give a message to Asaduddin Owaisi. I would ask him not to come to Bengal (to contest elections). Even if you come, we will stop you."

Pasha also accused Owaisi's party of helping the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to win the Bihar polls.

After winning five seats in Bihar, Owaisi had said AIMIM would contest in the West Bengal polls scheduled to be held in April-May next year.
