After PM Modi-Rishi Sunak meet, UK gives go-ahead to 3,000 annual visas for Indians
London/New Delhi/IBNS: The United Kingdom has given a go-ahead to the scheme facilitating 3,000 young professionals from India to travel annually to the country and work for upto two years following a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his British counterpart Rishi Sunak.
The age limit for the professionals is 18-30.
A tweet by the British Prime Minister's handle reads, "Today the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme was confirmed, offering 3,000 places to 18–30 year-old degree educated Indian nationals to come to the UK to live and work for up to two years."

The announcement by the UK came following the Modi-Sunak meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit in Indonesia.
"The launch of the scheme is a significant moment both for our bilateral relationship with India and the UK's wider commitment to forging stronger links with the Indo-Pacific region to strengthen both our economies," 10 Downing Street said in a statement as quoted by the media.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who is of Indian-origin, said as quoted by India Today, "I know first-hand the incredible value of the deep cultural and historic ties we have with India."
"I am pleased that even more of India’s brightest young people will now have the opportunity to experience all that life in the UK has to offer – and vice-versa - making our economies and societies richer," he added.
