After Lok Sabha poll victory, Rahul Gandhi visits Wayanad for first time

Wayanad, June 7 (IBNS): For the first time since he was elected as the MP from Wayanad, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday visited his constituency on Friday.

" The people of Wandoor extend a warm welcome to Congress President @RahulGandhi during his visit to Wayanad. #RahulGandhiWayanad," the official Twitter page Rahul Gandhi's Wayanad office posted.

  This time, Rahul Gandhi fought the polls from both Amethi and Wayanad seats.

In Amethi, Gandhi received a jolt when Union Minister Smriti Irani beat him by 55,000 votes.

Gandhi was a sitting MP from the seat.

Amethi was considered as a Congress stronghold till the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

However, Gandhi registered a massive victory from Wayanad in is Lok Sabha polls debut from the seat.

He won the seat by a margin of over 4.31 lakh votes.
