'Abhi picture baaki hai': Rahul Gandhi relaunches attack on Election Commission over 'voter fraud'

New Delhi/IBNS: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday relaunched a fresh attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI), a day after all INDIA bloc parties protested over the alleged voter fraud in the national capital.

Speaking to the reporters in Parliament premises, Rahul said, "We are protecting the Constitution. 'One Man-One Vote' is the foundation of the Constitution. It is the responsibility of the Election Commission to implement 'One Man-One Vote', but they have not done their job."

"We are protecting the Constitution and will continue to do so consistently. There is a case of 124-year-old Minta Devi, and there are many such cases. Abhi picture baaki hai (the entire picture is yet to come)," the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition added.

INDIA bloc protests in Delhi

Rahul Gandhi trying to revive fainted TMC MP Mahua Moitra and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav climbing the barricades were among the dramatic scenes that unfolded in the INDIA bloc's mega march from Parliament to ECI office in New Delhi on Monday.

TMC MP Mitali Baugh too fainted as her colleagues from the party tried to revive her.

The march, which started from Makar Dwar in Parliament at 11:30 am, was called by the anti-Modi front over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and alleged voter fraud.

Enroute the ECI office, the march was stopped midway with the leaders including Rahul Gandhi being detained.

Priyanka held placards and shouted "Modi sarkar is a coward" and "stop vote stealing".

TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose alleged women leaders were "pushed, shoved and dragged by their hair" by police.

"The way women MPs have been mistreated is the most shocking muscling of democracy by the Modi government and its police," said Sagarika.

ECI sends notice to Rahul after Congress MP levels allegations

Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has sent a notice to Rahul asking him to provide physical evidence to back his 'voter fraud' allegations.

In a press conference last week, Rahul alleged over a lakh votes were stolen with fake addresses, duplicate entries and bulk registrations of voters in a single address in the Mahadevapura constituency of Karnataka in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

The CEO has categorically referred to Rahul's claim that one Shakun Rani, 70, had cast her vote twice in the elections as per the Election Commission of India (ECI) data.

Rahul last week gave a presentation to the media alleging how BJP had stolen votes in some constituencies to win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

"Narendra Modi is now the Prime Minister because of 25 Lok Sabha seats where votes were stolen," the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition said and added, "While majority of the seats are showing competitions, BJP is just sweeping some of the seats."

Following the allegations, the ECI asked Rahul to send the details of the voters whom he think were wrongly included or excluded along with a signed oath for each case.
