AAP releases Varanasi manifesto

Varanasi, May 1 (IBNS) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday released its manifesto for Varanasi where it promised a 'holy city' status to the north Indian city .

The manifesto was released at the party's Varanasi office.

The manifesto was released by party leaders Manish Sisodiya, Sanjay Singh, Prof Anand Kumar, Yogendra Yadav, Rajmohan Gandhi, Ashutosh along with local leaders from Varanasi. 

"Varanasi is going to be developed as the spiritual capital of the world. Hence, it will get the status of a holy city," the AAP said in the seven-page manifesto.

"We are going to arrange  economic packages from the central and state governments in order to develop the city's infrastructure," it said.

In the manifesto, the party also promises to improve other key facilities like road, health, education, sewage and water facilities.

AAP supremo Arvind Kejriewal is contesting the Lok Sabha polls from the Varanasi seat against BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
