Kolkata, Nov 13 (IBNS): A coach of 12821 UP Dhauli Express derailed due to a suspected wheel malfunction near Panskura junction railway station in West Bengal's East Medinipur district on Tuesday morning, reports said.

According to reports, a wheel of Howrah to Puri bound Dhauli Express's D3 coach went off the track at Narayan Pakuria Murail railway station, located between Bhogpur and Panskura stations in South Eastern Railway (SER)'s Howrah-Kharagpur division, at around 7:10 am.

Following the incident, senior officials of SER, Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP), and Indian Railway's medical team along with a relief train rushed to the scene.

SER officials said that all passengers of the derailed train were rescued unhurt and they were put on another train towards the same direction.

"No casualties were reported in the incident and an inquiry has been initiated into the reason behind the derailment," a senior SER official told IBNS.
