Indore, Apr 21 (IBNS): In another incident that left the country shell-shocked, an eight-month old girl, who was sleeping on the streets, has been raped and murdered by a 21-year old man at the basement of a building in Indore on Friday, media reports said.

The accused, who is known to the victim's family, was caught in the CCTV camera.

The girl reportedly was sleeping with her parents on the streets and the accused lifted her and took to the basement.

In the CCTV camera, the accused was seen killing her after the commitment of the heinous crime.

The child's body had injuries in the private parts and also head.

The police said the accused will be arrested soon.

The incident occurred just days after the country witnessed an outrage over the Kathua rape case, where eight-year old Asifa was raped, mutilated and murdered allegedly inside a temple in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

In this week only, three minors have been raped in Uttar Pradesh's Etah, Gujarat's Surat and Chhattisgarh.
