Bengaluru: Six Air Force officials have been charged with murder after a trainee cadet was found hanging in his room at Air Force Technical College (AFTC) in Jalahalli on Saturday, media reports said.

The cadet trainee allegedly died by suicide on the same day he was discharged from his duties following a court of inquiry decision, according to an NDTV report.

Police said the cadet trainee, Ankit Kumar Jha, mentioned officers of the ranks of air commodore, wing commander and Group Captain in his suicide letter.

His family members have claimed that he was facing constant harassment and torture on the college campus, the report said.

Investigating officers said Ankit Jha was removed from his duties after disciplinary action was initiated against him.

An FIR was registered by the brother of the victim, police said, adding that they are gathering evidence against the claims and allegations made by the family members and also in the suicide note.
