42 killed in Uttarakhand's Garhwal after bus falls into gorge

Uttarakhand, July 1 (IBNS): At least forty two passengers died on Sunday morning after their bus fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand's Paudi Garhwal district, reports said.

 Three are critically injured.

The accident took place on the Pipali-Bhoan motorway in Pauri Garhwal's Nainidanda block.

Besides local police, a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are engaged in rescue operations.

The mini bus, which was headed for Ramnagar from Bhoan, was carrying 45 passengers in total.

The cause of the accident has not been established yet.

The injured have been rushed to the hospital.
