40-year-old man arrested for raping a 3-year-old minor girl in Guwahati

Guwahati, Jan 2 (IBNS): A 40-year-old man was arrested by police for allegedly raping a 3-year-old minor girl at Hatigaon area in Assam’s capital city Guwahati on Wednesday.

According to reports, the accused person was identified as Imran Ali.

He reportedly took the minor girl to his rented room and raped her.

When the minor girl returned to her home, she reportedly complained of pain and her mother informed police.

Some local people thrashed the accused person and handed him over to police.

Meanwhile, police had registered a case (no – 3/2019) under section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested the accused person.

“The accused person named Imran took the victim to his rented room and raped her. We had already registered a case in connection with this incident,” Loknath Deka, Officer-in-Charge of Hatigaon police station said.
