14 people lose eyesight in Maharashtra due to medical negligence
Mumbai, Nov 5 (IBNS) In an alleged case of medical negligence, 14 people in Maharashtra have lost their eyesight after a cataract surgery at Washim civil district hospital.
Reports said the loss of eyesight was likely because of negligent post operative care.
Three doctors and two ophthalmologists have been suspended for negligence
Tests have revealed that eye swabs used at the hospital contained infectious bacteria and the infections were contracted due to unclean medical equipment.
