Mangaldai/Assam: The artwork of Ajit Bania, a young artist from Mangaldai, Assam was featured at a global art exhibition in Italy over a three-day period.

Ajit Bania's painting, titled "Old Lady," has been displayed at the esteemed "Fabriano in Acquarello-2023" exhibition, which is the world's most prestigious watercolor art exhibition, reported The Assam Tribune.

The event was held at the Sala Borsa auditorium in Bolonga, Italy from April 23 to 25, and Ajit was the sole artist from his state to be chosen to participate.

The exhibition attracted artists and experts from 80 different countries, who showcased their paintings, gave demonstrations, and exhibited their artwork.

Ajit, who graduated from Guwahati art college in 2014, has already showcased his artwork in various international art platforms such as the "Mostra internazionale d'arte" in Italy, "IWS watercolor competition 2023" in Germany, "Jiwi international watercolor exhibition nights" in Japan in 2021, and the "International landscape watercolor exhibition 2021" in Canada, among others.

Talking to The Assam Tribune, Ajit expressed, “I am excited as one of my paintings is exhibited in the world’s most prestigious watercolor art festival."

"Every artist knows about the importance of getting a chance to participate in an international event held by none other than a country like Italy, known as the heaven of art on the earth.”

"Every year paintings are selected by the international watercolor society (IWS) from different countries, dividing each country into four separate segments. I was selected by team leader Rajat Shubhra Bandopadhay amongst fifteen artists in India (North)."

"As far as my information, I am the only artist from Assam to get this rare opportunity”, he stated further.

His remarkable artistic creations have earned him international recognition, such as the "Top 100 Artists Award" commemorating the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Communist Party of China, the "Nomination Award IWS Singapore 2021," the "Excellent Award 2021 IWS International Young Artist Watercolor Competition" in Malaysia, an "Appreciation Certificate IWS Iran 2022," and the "Global Top 50 Recognition Awards Global Art Connection Watercolor Exposition" in France and Poland in 2022, among others.
