Suspected Covid-19 case found negative in Nagaland, Manipur records first incident

Kohima/UNI: One suspected case of Corona Virus in Nagaland was found negative after all types of tests at Dibrugarh in Assam.

According to official sources today samples were collected from an 84-year-old person on March 21 last and sent for testing at RMRC & ICMR laboratory of Dibrugarh in Assam, while the test was carried out on Sunday. The result declared negative.

Meanwhile, Nagaland Health & Family Welfare minister S. Pangnyu Phom visited COVID-19 Control Room, Isolation Ward and Ventilation Rooms at District Hospital Dimapur to take stock of the preparedness. The Health officials, during his visit, briefed him about the various steps taken in the district.

The Minister also inspected Dimapur Railway Station, where Health Department officials had been posted to screen the railway passengers and he interacted with railway officials, besides visiting Nagaland Gate and Dilai Gate. He stressed on the need for social distancing to prevent the outbreak, and appealed the administration and police to strictly follow the lockdown orders issued by the Government. He also appreciated all NGOs who have come forward to help through different means. 

Meanwhile, a positive case has been reported from Manipur.
