Sriharikota/IBNS: In yet another glorious chapter in India's space science, the Indian Space Research Organisation or ISRO on Wednesday launched the radar imaging earth observation satellite RISAT-2BR1 on board the PLSV-C48 rocket from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

Nine foreign satellites were also launched in the mission.

ISRO tweeted: "All 9 customer satellites(from Israel, Italy, Japan and USA) successfully placed in their designated orbit by #PSLVC48."

After a smooth 22.45 hour countdown, the PSLV-C48 took off majestically from the First Launch Pad (FLP) at 1525 hrs from the SHAR Range here and about 16 minutes flight duration, RISAT-2BR1, with a mission life of five years, was first injected into an Orbit of 576 km with an inclination of 37 deg to the equator.
