India's Omicron tally touches 653, Maharashtra tops chart

New Delhi: India's Omicron tally touched 653 while the overall new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours in the country reached 6,358, as per data released by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.

Maharashtra topped the chart of Omicron cases with 167.

Delhi stood in the second position with 165.

India's active caseload currently stands at 75,456.

During the past 24 hours, 293 deaths were recorded.

Active cases account for less than 1 percent of total cases and currently stands at 0.22 percent.

Recovery Rate currently at 98.40 percent.

6,450 recoveries were also registered in the past 24 hours.
