India's COVID-19 death toll crosses 3 lakh

New Delhi: India recorded yet another spike in deaths due to COVID-19 as 4454 people succumbed to the virus.

With the fresh deaths, the death toll due to the disease now touched the grim 3 lakh mark.

The country has so far recorded 303720 COVID-19 deaths.

India reported  2,22,315 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

During the same period, 3,02,544 people have been discharged.

There are 2720716 active cases in the country at present.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 33,05,36,064 samples have been tested so far for coronavirus, of which 19,28,127 tests were conducted in the past one day.
