Indian rocket PSLV launches two British satellites

New Delhi, Sept 16 (IBNS): Adding one more feather to its cap, Indian rocket Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) on Sunday lifted off successfully with two British satellites from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

The PSLV-CA (Core Alone) version, standing 44.4 metres tall and weighing 230.4 tonnes, which was carrying two British satellites-NovaSAR and S1-4- move up towards the sky at 10:08 pm from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.

After PSLV-CA (Core Alone) launched the NovaSAR and S1-4 satellites, the ISRO tweeted: "Mission accomplished!

#PSLVC42 launches NovaSAR and S1-4 satellites successfully. @pmo @PIB_India @DDNational #ISROMissions."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was quick in congratulating the Indian scientists and tweeted: "Congratulations to our space scientists! ISRO successfully launched PSLV C42, putting two UK satellites in orbit, demonstrating India's prowess in the competitive space business. @isro."
