India registers slight lower surge in daily count, 1,68,063 new COVID-19 cases detected in past 24 hours

New Delhi: Marking a slight lower surge in daily count, India registered 1,68,063 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, as per data released by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.

The country recorded 277 deaths during the same period.

The Omicron tally of the country now stands at 4461.

Maharashtra tops the chart with 1247 cases detected.

India's active caseload currently stands at 8,21,446.

Active cases stands at 2.29 percent.

Recovery Rate currently at 96.36 percent.

69,959  recoveries were reported in the past 24 hours.
