Himachal Pradesh: Strong tremors felt in Shimla

A strong earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale struck Shimla and other parts of Himachal Pradesh, triggering panic among the people on Tuesday.

People came out of their houses as the strong tremors were felt at 2-51 PM.

The strong jolt was followed by a number of tremors.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the quake's epicentre was deep in the Himalayas in Nepal at the latitudes of 29.39 and longitude of 81.23 and depth of five km.
