Hailstorm leaves Rajasthan's Nagaur town white, videos go viral

Nagaur/IBNS: In what seemed like one of the most bizarre incidents recorded in India this year, Rajasthan's Nagaur area recently received hailstorm which covered the region with layers of ice and making the view look so perfect that it can even give a tough competition to any hill station covered with snow.

Videos and images of the Rajasthan region, which experienced this unique event on Thursday, have gone viral online.

Following the hailstorm, the streets and rooftops of the buildings in the villages of Nagaur, which includes Chhapri, Maulasar and Keechak, were covered by thick layers of ice.

The Met department has said that heavy rainfall and hailstorms occurring in Rajasthan are prompted by "western disturbances" in the weather, reported NDTV.

Meanwhile, netizens expressed their shocks and surprise over the event.

One Sidharth Sharma tweeted, "I don’t know why are people so excited about these hailstorm turned snow pictures from Nagaur, Rajasthan. It’s a cause of concern people, the global imbalances showing up now. There’s still time, save the planet before it’s too late."

Another Akshay Negi said: "It's a matter of concern if a deserted state is enveloping in snow. Think twice before embracing snowfall in Rajasthan."
